Competition for the design of a plaza at the Danube University Campus in Krems, Austria. Organized by publicart.at – Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, Niederösterreich.

“Traces” proposes step-sensitive, light-emitting colored floor tiles, which work as graphic wayfinding elements between the university buildings. Spread across the campus, the number of tiles increases towards the center of the forum, where they turn into functional elements: a lawn area, a water basin and sitting elements. At dark the forum gets illuminated by the people who leave „traces“ and thus give it a sense of animation.
